About tan tigress

Tan Tigress Productions LLC is a small production company in Denver, Colorado created by Rebekah Henderson - aka the Tan Tigress - with a focus on race and identity. Both the moniker Tan Tigress and her motto, “What I lack in melanin, I make up for in militant!” are nods to the strong Black identity behind her light-skinned looks, as a mixed-race woman.

Henderson is a filmmaker, author, and podcast host based in Denver, Colorado. In 2016, she partnered with videographer Trish Tolentino to direct What Makes a Mother?, a heartwarming series of interviews with moms and their children. In 2018, the pair directed All Mixed Up: Our Changing Racial Identities, a short documentary that explores mixed race identity in the United States.

In addition to filmmaking, writing, and podcasting, Henderson also works as a political consultant with a focus on video and online content and writes for several online publications.
